Yes, kids can enjoy the palace — especially the Bridge of Sighs and the cells. Keep expectations calibrated and the route compact.

Short family loop (60-75 minutes)

  • Courtyard → Scala d'Oro → Sala del Maggior Consiglio (5-10 minutes) → Bridge of Sighs → Prisons → Exit.

Make it engaging

  • Scavenger list: a lion of St. Mark, a ship, a saint, a mermaid, a crowned lady (Venice), and a doge's cap.
  • Count the different ceiling shapes; vote for the “room of the day.”

Facilities and strollers

  • Restrooms are signed; ask staff for the nearest ones before crossing the bridge.
  • Strollers are allowed on main routes; some stair sections require lifts or detours.

Snack breaks

  • Avoid the most touristic bars along the Riva; dive a block or two inland for better value.
